Team Requirements
Any junior wanting to go to Camp Perry for the 2008 National Matches in July/August will have to qualify to be able to attend with the California Grizzlies. There are a growing number of juniors wanting to go to the National Matches, although some have not yet achieved a level of performance that will make them competitive. The following requirements will allow the juniors to set goals with the National Matches in mind.
Shooting Requirements
- Participate in at least one, preferably both, of the State Championships in April and May.
- Have at least a N.R.A. high power classification of Sharpshooter by the State Matches in April OR
- Show at least 3 match results of you shooting scores of Sharpshooter or higher.
Team Requirements
- Maintain good grades and citizenship in school
- Maintain your data book
- Maintain membership with the NRA (Jr. $15/year)
Expectations
- Represent the State of California and team sponsors with class
- Wear team shirts at all matches
- Be on time and give your best effort in practice and matches
- Respect your coaches, team mates and fellow shooters
- Respect the rules and guests of hotels and other lodging
- Notify the coach(es) ahead of time if you will be absent
Disciplinary issues
- Repeated absences may result in suspension or dismissal from the team
- Absolutely no illegal drug, alcohol, or tobacco use
- Absolutely no sexual misconduct or harassment
- Penalty for firearms safety violation will be dismissal from team for intentional acts
- Suspension or dismissal from team for repeated unintentional acts
